by Alesia Arefjeva

You have just received the web hosting service bill and this month the payment exceeded the usual sum. Web hosting provider explains that the reason is the increasing of your website monthly minimum of information exchange quote, and they recommend to decrease your website size. What is the metric of information interchange and capacity? What size of capacity is necessary for you? How to reduce an information interchange metric? Let’s more in detail disassemble each of these questions.

What is “an information interchange metric”?
It is the total amount of the information transferred monthly by a site to users. Each website file has its size, e.g. 22 KB. Each time when a user downloads this file, the information interchange metric increases by to this number. The bigger is size of the uploading file and the bigger is the amount of users, the are the higher is information interchange metric.

What is the capacity?
Capacity is the amount of information which can be transferred within a certain period of time. Data transfer metric is speed showing how quickly the information from one device to another can be transferred. Information metric is usually measured in megabits (million of bits) per second or megabytes(million of bytes) per second and are marked as MBps (megabyte per second).

Bits and bytes
8 bits is 1 byte.
1,024 bytes = 1 Kilobyte (Kb).
1,024 kilobytes (Kb) = 1Megabyte (Mb or meg)
1,024 megabytes = 1 Gigabyte (GB or Gbyte or gig)

What size of capacity is necessary for you?
To define necessary size of capacity, it is necessary to count up the size of each web page, and then to multiply by quantity of pages of a site. Multiply by prospective quantity of reviews of your pages during a month. For example, the web page has two maps on 15 KB everyone, and also contains the text of of 3 KB, i.e. your page has the size of 33 KB. Now multiply this number by number of prospective page views during a month (for example, 100,000 reviews during a month). It means that for this page in a month it is required to transfer 3.3 GB information. Now output this number for each page and, thereby, you will get to know approximate size of an exchange information necessary for the site.

How to decrease the information interchange metric?
The most simple way is to decrease the website files size, namely size of images and other graphics used. For example, the webpage contains a big image (i.e.: 200 KB), which uploads each time a user opens a page. If you reduce the image size to 20 KB or remove it from your page, you reduce the information information interchange metric and increase the webpage load speed.

Websites containing MP3 music, movies, sound effects or large images require bigger capacity. Popular websites need bigger capacity as well. Information interchange metric should not be big if your website contains simple HTML pages and small images.

Advice while working with the capacity

If you add files or page to your website calculate the total website size again. Define what amount of users you should have for the next few months. Calculate the capacity again. You may need more disk space and more size of capacity for effective website functioning. Inquire your web hosting provider whether it is possible to move to another web hosting plan which allows to increase the disk space and capacity.

Conclusion
Now you can avoid getting big tickets shock reception of the big scores for excess of a metric of information interchange. You are ready to get a big amount of website visitors and consequently increase sales.

Free is a very nice word. People are attracted to things that are free. People on the Internet to find free things that are very attractive. Companies provide Web hosting plans give you free web space for free.

It is a beautiful plan. But before accepting this plan, we must think a lot. Beginners are very satisfied with this because it is able to meet your needs. But the thing is very important that you use in May paid professional accommodation to resolve some serious problems.

If the Web page in terms of accommodation is not an official site and is very informal, such as web page for your newspaper and free hosting is a good choice. Free web hosting you can host your files with ad banners of different companies on the sides of your web page. People use this service to store images, journals and documents to be able to access from anywhere on the Internet.

These free services can be very beneficial and provide services that would otherwise be paid if you go to other companies. The you can use your own domain, subdomains and directories. These free services are a good choice for small sites and companies. It provides a good starting point for website builders. At the same time, we must realize that these sites do not offer all that the professional paid web hosting companies.

Often, these web hosting services offer very limited free domain names. The space offered by them may not be enough for you especially if you have any plans for your business to grow. You’ll have to use the little disk space and bandwidth they provide and May not be able to add links to video and music files.

The free hosting service in May at the same intensity in terms of operating time as professional services. It provides some services. It functions are user friendly and allows you to add scripts and transfer files with FTP. Although it faces another problem, these services do you participate in their forums, you have to comment on posts on a regular basis, if you do not want your account is closed.

The free host your sites use to publish their own ads. May they use banners and pop-ups there. Different can offer free hosting instant activation, forum hosting and approved activation.

These three different types of limitations. Although the activation credits generally provides greater disk space and bandwidth. Paid hosting gives you the choice to control your web site and is very reliable.

The imminent death of SEO has been a hot topic amongst SEO professionals for quite some time now. Some SEO professionals worry that their careers are in jeopardy since search engines are continually making improvements to their technologies. Search engines are in the process of completely revamping their ranking strategies to fight spammers and improve user experience. For example, Google is currently improving intent and behavior-based search in order to provide more relevant search results. So what does this all mean for the future of SEO? Is the death of SEO an inevitable outcome of the advancement of search engines?

People have been predicting the end of SEO since the very beginning. While it’s certain that things on the SEO front are always changing and that search engines are getting smarter, SEOs will continually adapt to these changes just as they have in the past. As long as search engines list websites without requiring the websites to pay a fee, SEO will exist.

Google’s Improvements and What They Mean for the Future of SEO

In the quest to fight spam and improve user experience, Google is in the process of implementing a series of changes in behavior and intent-based search. Every person who conducts a search for a particular term will have different results based on their location and search history. As a result of these changes, search engine optimization have to switch from only targeting keywords to focus more on increasing traffic and conversions. A possibility is that link building will become far less important in the future of SEO because Google will determine the value of a website based on how visitors engage with it. The ultimate goal of websites will be to provide compelling content that entices visitors to read, share, bookmark, and so on.

Social input through voting is another feature that search engines are tinkering with in order to provide user-controlled rankings. Search engine users might have the chance to vote for sites they like and sites will get ranked based on such votes. The model will be similar what’s seen on social voting sites like Digg and Reddit. Of course, search engines will have to find a way to ensure that votes are made naturally in order to prevent black hat SEOs from fooling the search engine bots.

Google and other search engines are raising the bar in SEO. Initially, this will make it harder for SEO professionals to do their job but the end result is positive. Spammers and black hat SEOs will have more difficulty succeeding in their unscrupulous efforts and search engine users will be provided with content that is more relevant.

Humans, Not Machines

As always, the aim of webmasters and SEO professionals should be to appeal to humans. People spend so much time trying to trick the search engines that they forget who they are ultimately serving: people! Your site should be optimized but your priority should always be to fulfill needs and provide solutions. Considering the direction that SEO is going, human actions and behavior will ultimately determine rankings. Your SEO success depends on your ability to engage people through great content and social media marketing.

Demand for website marketing services is exploding while offline businesses all around the globe can’t escape the jaw dropping downturn. Businesses are shrinking expenses wherever they can during this economic downturn. But the reverse is happening in the online world. In fact, online marketing activities are stronger than ever. This is not only because companies want to flex and tone their competitive muscles but consumer online spending is increasing which is a red flag in this current market.

An economic downturn is a great time for companies to rethink and refocus their brands, costs, positioning, market share and competitors. Sure, there’s blood on the floor but when the axis stops its high voltage spin, companies everywhere take a collective sigh and work out their place in the world. And then it’s time to get out there and talk about their new generation of products or services as if they were Lazarus reborn.

A cocky advantage internet marketing has over print and other media is its extremely affordable, making it the logical choice whether every dollar counts or not. A collective sigh is one thing but if you snooze, you lose. Smart companies are improvising. They can’t afford to not market. They need is affordable, cost effective, good returns on investment and sustainable platforms they can build on. Web 2.0 social media marketing provides it all and more.

Hundreds of companies all over the world of every shape and size offer website, blogging, article writing, video and marketing services as well as pay per click and search engine optimization (SEO) services to stimulate and secure links back to their sites for solid search engine rankings. Costs are low, turnaround fast and outsourcing reliable. Traditional marketing services are still in demand but until delivery costs can be significantly reduced to compete they must wait patiently until budgets expand to permit expenditures that have fallen into the luxurious ‘you must be kidding’ category.

Social media marketing has an unfair advantage. It’s very affordable costing only a fraction on other marketing and advertising channels despite its enormous reach into cyber space. It also has high value, long term engineering elements that crank and build interest and trust in companies, products, people and culture by stimulating vital ongoing virtual conversations unlike the usual one-way company shake and rattle delivered by other mediums.

It’s also measurable. Highly measurable. Trial runs, tests and experiments are all easy to measure allowing you to see what works, what doesn’t, who makes up your demographics and where they live. Most of these results are free allowing you to improve your campaigns with laser-like focus until you get it right.

Internet marketers will no doubt spoil the fun of, and possibly humiliate, traditional marketing as they tear away like rockets snatching budgets from those who refuse to believe that things have changed. Right now Web 2.0 social media marketing can’t lose. But the tables could turn in a blink if traditional media does something crazed and unusual to get everyone’s attention. It’s happened before.

Think about the past for a moment; can you recall the first time you came across internet banner advertising? Almost certainly, you saw your first banner advertising at the same time as you first saw the web itself!

Online advertising has been around since the mid 1990s, when people first started getting connected in significant numbers. As early as 1995, banner ads and other web advertising were ubiquitous; and it still is, but things have changed quite a bit since the early days of the internet. Technologies have advanced and the design of internet banner advertising has grown right along with the web and the changing ways that consumers respond to online advertising.

When the World Wide Web was still a novelty to many people, the response to banner advertising was far higher than it is now. People would click on almost anything which got their attention; so ads which flashed, bore garish color schemes or featured animation got results.

However, people have gotten their fill of these sorts of banners by now and most of us would rather not be flashed by web advertising every time we navigate to a site. The response rate to internet banner advertising has declined across the board in recent years. Does this mean that banner ads are a moribund format for online advertising?

According to the web advertising experts on the advertising news websites and forums, there is plenty of life in banner ads yet. Rather, it’s a question of what kind of internet banner advertising will and will not work with today’s savvier web users. While some of the media buying and advertising agencies out there find it a bitter pill to swallow, a consensus is emerging that simple banner ads which don’t intrude on the user experience are the way forward for online advertising.

Banner ads which integrate well into the sites where they are placed (and importantly, do not annoy readers) still work – and some publishers are doing very well indeed with these types of banners.

Getting results from internet banner advertising just requires careful attention to design and an understanding of consumer response on the sites offering placements. Before you deploy a campaign of banner advertising, look at the publisher’s statistics; you’ll want to see the average click through rate per 5,000 impressions.

Publishers will use systems to track ad response (if they don’t, you may want to reconsider this placement), so this information should be available.

When you find a site which you’re confident is popular with your target demographic, you may want to try out a banner for 10,000 impressions to see the response rate for yourself. If the response is in line with the statistics the publisher has provided and meets your own expectations, then stick with this placement. It can be challenging to find effective online advertising placements, so a site which gives you results from your internet banner advertising is a valuable resource indeed.

There is still a place for internet banner advertising; it’s just a matter of finding the best placements for your business and matching the design to your audience.
